COLUMBIA, SC — The 2016-17 Girls Varsity Basketball Team has opened many eyes around the Midlands this past season. They finished off the regular season with 20 wins and only three losses. They were able to stay undefeated in the region, making them region champions.
Ridge View’s girls were invited to the the Coastal Division Carolina Invitational in Charleston. They finished the tournament, securing the first place trophy.
The Lady Blazers had an outstanding year finishing off the regular season with an amazing record, and taking the crown of 2016-17 Region Champions (10-0).

Meanwhile, Armanii Grice set a personal record, scoring her 1,000th point on Senior Night against York High School.
“I was shocked,” said Armanii Grice. “I didn’t think that I was that close…”
After winning their first two playoff games with home court advantage, the Lady Blazers then traveled to Wren High School and were defeated 69-44. This made an emotional end to their season having been predicted to go farther.
“ I feel like this was my best season, and I’m glad I came to play for Coach Gibson,” said senior Narjai Beshear after the season ended. “He gave me a better experience and helped me work harder to the best of my ability I will not forget this season,” she added.
